The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is hosting a virtual Industry Kickoff meeting for the U.S. 69 Modernization and Expansion Project design-build project on July 29, 2021. The project limits extend along U.S. 69 from 103rd Street on the north end to 179th Street on the south end and includes the expansion of U.S. 69 to six lanes. The project has received local and state approval to move forward as Kansas’ first Express Toll Lanes project. KDOT intends to initiate a two-stage design-build procurement process in late 2021 for the first phase of this project. The agenda for the meeting will include a summary of preliminary design activities, an overview of the project scope, budget and procurement process, and additional industry engagement opportunities. If you are a contractor, designer, DBE/WBE, or specialty business, this meeting may be of interest to you. All industry representatives are invited to attend and ask questions of KDOT and its Project Management Consultant, HNTB.
